In the song 2525 the speaker wonder's if people will even be alive. He see's a bleak vision of the future. People will take a pill to control there thinking and talking. Peole wont need there bodies because a machine will do everything for them. As the years go on society keeps getting worse. In the year 8510 god is going to be upset and decided whether the world should continue or end. By 9595 the speaker seems more convinced that the world wont be around anymore because people have taken so much from it. In 10,000 years men will have spent alot of time crying because the world has turned out so badly and thats not what they wanted to happen.
I think the speaker is trying to suggest that humanity needs to be careful about depending to much on technology because if they dont the world will end up ending. I think the song relates to our society now because our society does depend on technology alot. Where always creating new technology to make our lives easier. This is a quote from the song " Your arms are hanging limp at your sides, your legs got nothing to do, some machine is doing that for you" In this quote the speaker is saying that in the future you wont have to use your arms or legs because there will be a machine that does everything for you , people in the future will have to depend on a machine for there everyday living .
People shouldn't take to much from the earth , they should use what they have wisley because on day it could all end.
